Monday, October 6, Day 35 San Francisco to Tehachapi (Stallion Springs Resort)

Up fairly early and packed, the Red arrived and helped us with our bags and we loaded our car. Then we went for breakfast at LaBoulangerie. Was hard leaving as we had such a good time with our daughter but all good things have to end and we already were looking forward to Christmas with our children.
So then, off to the road around 10:00 for one of our longest drive days. The drive took us, for our first time, right down the central agricultural areas of California. Many apple and fruit groves dominated the irrigated areas. The drought has left much more land desolate and almost returning to just dust. It’s rather frighting to see the result of lack of rainfall.
We arrived at dusk at Stallion Springs. Our unit is nice, with a terrific porch overlooking the golf course. Tiny, but well equipped kitchen and a very weird bathroom.
