Sept. 4 Day 3 – Yellowstone Park

Today Peter took a bus tour of the “lower loop” of Yellowstone Park, recommended by our great AAA Travel Counsellor, Jane Henninger. Lois reneged ( 8 AM bus departure). Interesting; the creation of the park’s enormous caldera following a huge volcanic explosion about 600,000 years ago, which extended over much of the USA. It’s predicted that the next eruption, whenever, will probably extinguish the whole of North America. All the geysers, spouts, mud pots and bubbling pools are warnings of the unstable core. Very fascinating and scary. Around 1 PM, Peter miraculously finds Lois waiting for Old Faithful to erupt, and are then able to spend the afternoon together. Yellowstone Falls were the highlight of the afternoon.
